I have a howto about filtering for Asus Eee 701 4G and Ubuntu - not a server size machine, indeed ;-). http://wiki.ubuntu-fi.org/Nettisuodatus If you have one nic, you can get some ideas from that howto, I think. But you have to open more ports for services... see below. If you have two nic's you have to ask more - not me - I'm no iptables/firewall specialist... This howto use Dansguardian, Tinyproxy and Firehol. One challenge is that my howto is in finnish ;-).
