Your problems appear to centre around these steps: > Sep 1 12:00:00 karibu in.tftpd[28636]: RRQ from 192.168.0.155 filename > /ltsp/i386/nbi.img > Sep 1 12:07:39 karibu nbd_server[27488]: Read failed: Connection timed out > Sep 1 12:07:39 karibu nbd_server[27485]: Read failed: Connection timed out > Sep 1 12:07:39 karibu nbd_server[27485]: Read failed: Connection timed out > Sep 1 12:10:01 karibu dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:08:a1:48:0a:14 via eth0 which is to say that a TFTP request for the image goes out at 12:00:00. You then have a 7:39 minutes before an nbd_server read timeout. Something in there is going wrong. As a start, I suggest you take a backup copy of the file below, then edit it, removing the words quiet and splash. This will give you a more verbose boot process so you can see where the pause is. You can then reboot and let us know how you get on. /var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/pxelinux.cfg/default As a second suggestion, I'd reboot again with the following tcpdump command running on the server. sudo tcpdump -i eth0 ether host 00:08:a1:48:0a:14 Then you'll have a full list of all frames that went back and forward between the thin client and server. This may help to show the issue. Though hopefully it'll already be apparent after the first test.
