I got a little bit clever and reordered my group section and tried again:
# cat /var/log/boot.log

Obviously there is nothing wrong with the cited line in particular,
but this seems to have more to do with relative positioning in the
file. Is there a limit to the number of groups one can place in the
lts.conf file, or the ordering thereof?
