Thanks for all your support and ideas LTSPers, LTSP seems out of reach for me at this time. It will be hard to support it remotely while I'm learning it myself. Bypassing a terminal server by flashing Linux on old thin clients with minimum 128 MB RAM is very inexpensive. You give up central control, lack of file space and simplified application management.
There is a need to simplify the architecture and deploy in a few short months. So, I'm cutting down on how many functions I want to support remotely - down to the application, backups, firewall and phone server.
