Hallo. In our school we use ltsp in ubuntu 10.04. Our thin clients are old computers with hard drives. I have prepared them swap partition sda2. (mkswap /dev/sda2; swapon /dev/sda2).
In lts.conf I set USE_LOCAL_SWAP = True. Clients actually included partition in the swap space, but never actually start to use it (see the top listing): Swap: 94684k total, 0k Used. Even when fully occupied RAM (local apps). I tried to set different values of swapiness, but it had no effect. What can block the use of swap? How to force the thin clients to start using swap?
