I use Debian but the following may apply to Ubuntu... You have to copy "/usr/share/doc/ltspfs/examples/kde-desktop-icons" to "/etc/ltspfs/mounter.d", tha's all. This script is useful if you don't use gnome. I have configured "mate" to be the default desktop manager.
