This may or may not be related:
I have only been able to get 12.04 thin clients to log in when I set the
Session to "Ubuntu 2D".
I force this by creating the file/var/lib/tftpboot/*ltsp*/i386/lts.conf
with the contents:
[default]
LDM_XSESSION="gnome-session --session=ubuntu-2d"
then I do: sudo /usr/lib/lightdm/lightdm-set-defaults --session ubuntu-2d
Finally, I do these commands:
sudo ltsp-update-sshkeys
sudo ltsp-update-image
sudo ltsp-build-client --arch i386
sudo ltsp-update-image --arch i386
sudo service nbd-server restart
Restart the computer.
Then boot the thin client and log in.
Many of these steps may be unnecessary, but I am not certain which are
required at any point.

I'm running Edubuntu 12.04(64-bit)and trying to setup an LTSP server

up a few more clients so all i have right now is my server and my
client connected to a switch. I have gotten as far enough as getting
my thinclient(Diskless Workstation Model: LTSP1220) to boot, but then
it fails to log in to the server. My auth log gives me these messages:
