I am a bit stucked with this subject.... (Debian squeeze)

What I want (* means it is accomplished):
[*] English (en_US) ldm login screen
[*] option to select (change) the session language
[ ] after the login "full language" session

The latter is not working (I tried xfce4-session):
- the icon names on the Desktop are in English (Home, Trash, etc.)
- when I click on the Logout button everything is in English (Log out,
Restart, Suspend, etc.)
-/+ when I launch an xterm (Alt-F2) the launcher window is English, but
the LANG setting of xterm is correct (hu_HU or hu_HU.UTF-8 or de_DE.UTF-8,
etc.)
+ the language of libreoffice is according to the selected language
+ the language of xfce menu is OK
- the language of thunar file manager, mousepad editor,
xfce4-terminal-emulator is English
+ .dmrc shows the selected language...

Formerly, in lenny everything was fine, however I made a complete fresh
install of squeeze (instead of upgrading lenny... The ltsp server is in a
domU of our xen server).

In this squeeze setup another annoying thing is that I cannot type
[,],{,},etc. in Mathematica since I reach them through AltGr key but it is
not working, either. However, it is OK when I launch Mathematica in a vnc
session (tigervnc). In the ldm login window the keyboard and these
characters work fine, too, as well as in other applications such as xterm,
libreoffice, iceweasel, etc.

Any hint is appreciated,

Zsolt
