A SiS 6326 AGP video chipset using a vesa driver works just fine with
all modes of a CRT, but largely fails with a couple different LCD's. I
can get the LCD's to run with X_MODE_0=640x480 in lts.conf, but with any
higher resolutionit fails. One monitor displays "Cannot display this
video mode" and the other remains black or blank.
Using theresults of cvt, I tried these newly supported commands in lts.conf:
XRANDR_COMMAND_0="xrandr --newmode 1024x768 63.50 1024 1072 1176 1328
768 771 775 798 -hsync +vsync"
XRANDR_COMMAND_1="xrandr --addmode default 1024x768"
XRANDR_COMMAND_2="xrandr --output default --mode 1024x768"
But that failed both with and without X_MODE_0=640x480 in lts.conf.
Are my xrandr commands correct? (I used "default" as the output name
because that is what "xrandr -q" returns in its results.) Can anything
think of another approach? (And yes, the Xorg sis driver has already
been tried.) I might add that all manually entered xrandr commands
produce results that begin: "xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for
output default."
