I'm using PRINTER_0_DEVICE="/dev/usblp0" since ubuntu-9.04 and for years 
ago on debian. And because of the auto-generated device on thinclient, I 
was sure that's ok.
But you are right! Changing the device to PRINTER_0_DEVICE=/dev/usb/lp0 
it works perfect.
