Hi, I've seen people asking how to get the ltsp image booted from local harddrive without using PXE. I've been using such a setup for some time and I wrote a quick blog post on how to do it. The idea is that that image is copied to local disk and Grub loads the kernel and initrd image from inside the squashfs image.
The post is here: http://labs.opinsys.com/blog/2014/01/31/how-to-boot-ltsp-client-from-harddrive-using-grub/ If you feel brave, here's a more advanced version that makes Grub loop through files on a given partition and lists images that match a regex: https://github.com/opinsys/puavo-ltsp/blob/master/puavo-install/puavo-install-grub Happy hacking, Veli-Matti ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Managing the Performance of Cloud-Based Applications Take advantage of what the Cloud has to offer - Avoid Common Pitfalls.
