The version from the repo ts.sch.gr was deliberately altered to be an
easier option for schools and others in Greece, given that there is a
graphical frontend (in Greek) and detailed documentation (again in
Greek) on their wiki which explains the differences and how to use all
the bits.

Now for us in English let me say in defense of the technical team in
Greece that developed the frontend (and the popular Epoptes - by the
way) that indeed the command in a terminal

       ltsp-update-image -cleanup /

will accomplish what the graphical frontend would do for you.

The main difference lies in the path which is used (in the above
command it is /) which means that instead of going to the bother of
setting up an entire chroot install (which can be for any architechure
independent of the actual server) the actual server's version is used.
Thus all machines must be the same (usually 32 bit) and a simple update
of the server is immediately available to make the nbd image of with
this command.
