added loop module tp /etc/modules

now patched

will look out for it

Now ltsp-update-image and ltsp-config lts.conf created

ls /var/lib/tftpboot/ltsp/i386/
config-3.14-2-486 initrd.img-3.14-2-486 System.map-3.14-2-486
vmlinuz-486
grub initrd.img-486 vmlinuz
initrd.img lts.conf vmlinuz-3.14-2-486

but there is no pxelinux.0 which dnsmasq (as tftp server) expects.

Summing up:

1 clean install Debian Jessie with dnsmasqltsp-server-standalone
ltsp-client lxde
2 add loop to /etc/modules and reboot the server
3 ltsp-config dnsmasq and edit to comment out dhcp range line leaving
dhcp proxy since server has just one nic
3 service dnsmasq restart
4 edit /etc/ltsp/update-kernels.conf to have BOOT_METHODS=NBD and
IPAPPEND=3 uncommented
5 patched /usr/share/ltsp/update-kernels
6 aptitude update aptitude full-upgrade aptitude clean and then
ltsp-update-image --cleanup /
7 ltsp-config nbd-server
8 service nbd-server restart

What is the next step?

Richard
