Wow! that was close, almost updated my Firefox this morning. Thanks Alkis.

Now, I just tried the java app in question (ends in .jnlp) on my mac which
has FF v. 52 and get the message "What should Firefox do with this file?"
and I click on "Java Web Start" and it starts! Now this seems to contradict
what you are saying, or perhaps this website has ... OK don't really
understand some of these technologies. My questions are:

   1. since it seems to work on my Mac on FF 52, does that mean that this
   website HAS updated to 'web api' so I don't have to worry about the java
   apps on that site working w/FF?
   2. If I do have to concern myself with this for the phet site, how can I
   set FF to stay at the latest version of 51.x?
