Opening a .jnlp file is like opening a .doc file; it doesn't require any 
support from the browser, and it doesn't require any plugins.
It runs locally and natively inside the OS.

After you open it, you can even close the browser. Or you can get it 
with wget. Or you can store it locally and launch it without a browser. 
Etc etc.

But all these are  unrelated to LTSP so I don't think we should continue 
discussing it in this list... :)
