We reached the conclusion that the best solution was to make a separate TL repository.
It would not be very hard, I even started preliminary work on it, but I'm unlikely to finish soon (due to real-life reasons (in a word: thesis), I'm now just doing what needs to be done before TL2010, and I'll probably be inactive for a while after that). Of course, anyone is welcome to take over the project. Anyway, I don't feel there is an urgent need for that: TL2010 pretest images will be available in a few days, and normal packages can be updated during the year without any problem. Only when Luatex 0.7x will be out will a separate repo be interesting again, if the latest version of a package requires this version of LuaTeX. (At this point, I hope I'll be back in the loop, and will still volunteer for maintaining lualatex-dev TL repo if needed.) Manuel.
