As we are talking about luarocks servers, I have been wondering if we could not 
create or reuse something like the rubygems server. The simplest approach would 
be to fork https://github.com/rubygems/rubygems.org and adapt it for luarocks. 
Once ssh authentication is set, pushing new rocks to the server is:

luarocks push lub-1.0.3-1.rockspec

But I feel that instead of using rubygems code, it would be a good project to 
create on top of http://tir.mongrel2.org/...
