and I don't know what launcher looks like or where it's located at. Ralph Ralph, not sure I know enough to help, but here goes: if you are running Gnome, you have to have the sound demon running, which is called esd. Look for it and turn it on. Sometimes all you need is "esd" at a command prompt; other times you have to load the launcher into you panel or somewhere so you can easily turn it on. Good luck Ralph Miranda wrote:
My sound card wasn't working properly earlier but after I went into root and did a "sndconfig" to connect it.. I now can hear my CD's but not the regular computer sounds? I think something's not connecting properly but I have no idea what it is... I'm using Mandrake 8.1 Ralph _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx _______________________________________________ LUAU mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://videl.ics.hawaii.edu/mailman/listinfo/luau
