I have installed Oracle 9i server on Windows before. But not sure I can help with a Linux install. A Linux install is a completely different ballgame considering my experience with an Oracle client install on Linux recently. I might however be able to provide some good scripts/documentation on how to go about doing it in Linux. Please let me know if you need me to do that....

I learned today that the high price was from the 30 client access licenses for Windows 2000 Server that were included in the purchase. I fixed the lab that the server was intended for today (using Linux), and advised them to return that Dell server. Oracle itself is free for educational institutions, IIRC. I will be getting the free version and installing it onto Red Hat Linux 7.3. I may need help with this as I have not installed Oracle before. _______________________________________________ LUAU mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://videl.ics.hawaii.edu/mailman/listinfo/luau
