So, still messing around trying to get my network connection to work.
Tonight I'll try the version upgrade and see if that works. Hopefully
something will.

Your motherboard sounds like it has newer chipsets on it so perhaps Red
Hat 8.0 didn't support it yet? Have you tried Red Hat 8.0.94 beta
(phoebe3) or Mandrake 9.1 rc1 on that motherboard?
