Peter is that Windows internal or external to the lab? I suspect there are WINS configuration problems clashing on the external side. Somebody that understand Windows networking will need to check out the logs and see what the problem is. (Very sick right now, I can't deal with this at the moment.) If you are going to use IP direct within the \\ address from the windows side, be aware that there are TWO ip addresses on the external interface of the Linux server. (Run ifconfig as root to see the IP addresses.) One is a real Internet address, another is an alias that exists on your RFC1918 private network behind your NAT. Your Windows client needs to use the IP address on the same subnet, if DHCP probably private IP. FYI for Michael: Liholiho is running without a PDC for the sake of simplicity. Warren
