SanDisks CF/SD/MM/MS are cheaper at costco. Any flavor 256MB for $40-50 depending on the deal. (was $30 once)
I'd never buy a thumb drive. I'd rather use a pcmcia, ide or usb2 adaptor. any one of those plus the cost of the memory is still cheaper and faster. usb is actually the least favorable for me. It's just a 128 MB one, and USB 1.1 compatible but it's worked just fine for me. If I were going to buy one today the most important things I would look for a USB 2.0 compatibility, 256 MB or more of flash storage space, and a casing that looks good. If you have those elements together it's hard to go wrong. I really do keep mine on my keychain. Size and portability are important because if you don't take it with you every where, it won't be long before you find yourself missing it. The SanDisk 256 MB USB 2.0 Flash Memory Drive looks great. just $59.88 at amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000AZ67Z/qid=1064918664 Notice how the cap fits on the top of the drive, that's a better design than the CompUSA drive I've got. Mine doesn't have a place to put that cap, not a huge deal, but I'm worried I might loose it someday. - Tom On Monday, September 29, 2003, at 08:31 PM, Michael_Bishop/FARRINCS/[EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > I'm looking to purchase a thumb drive at least 256MB or perhaps 512MB. > I > want something rugged and that will last because I'll probably use it > everyday.
