Google helped me, which is the "good" message. The "bad" message: beginning 2013-09-09, Ubuntu 12.04 will be shipped out. Shipping means in this case: every citizen is allowed to go to the Munich city library and get a disc with Ubuntu 12.04 for free. So we don't know, what kind of computers will get this upgrade from Windows XP - but most will be old, will run it slowly or even worse: it won't start at all. I'll inform the german forum at ubuntuusers.de that maybe a lot people will tell their story and try to get help.
 
Anything else we could do?

It's been more than two months and I have totally forgotten about it. After stepping down, and getting involved with many other projects and communities, I have not had the time to check and follow up with you. I'm glad you did send and I feel sad that he didn't reply. Maybe we should call him?
 
I will leave this between your magical hands and I'm sure you can find out what is going on and maybe send him another email or call?
