But unfortunately, you can't check the integrity of the CD du to a bug. > I had winXP running on it before, then I tried Masonux (ubuntu 9.10 > and LXDE), which installed and run fine. Could you try to install a daily iso of Ubuntu Lucid ? It's maybe a general bug on Ubuntu Lucid (not Lubuntu specific). > Another install I did on a 5-6 year old desktop (Shuttle SS51, P4 > 1.8GHz, 512MB ram). It's mostly a bug in the generation of the ISO, because I can't estimate the real size of the system which will be installed. I'll try to reduce it for the next ISO. > After playing with this distro for a few hours these are my remarks: > Things I changed: desktop background and the Program/"Start" icon, I > just simply can't get used to lxde logo. To me it seems ugly, sorry :( You can report it to the LXDE project :) It's difficult to judge artwork, some will like it, others don't :) Also, you have on the ISO some others logos and backgrounds available for testing, feel free to report which ones you prefer :) > Things missing by Firefox from sites I visited: Flash and Java. There is a missing package for Flash (mozilla-plugin-gnash), I'll fix it for the next ISO. For Java, I don't think it shipped by default on Ubuntu. The official plugin (sun-java6-plugin) is not free, and the free one (icedtea6-plugin) not good as the official one. > Thing I miss from Ubuntu: date/time has location and temperature > notification. Can this be added somehow? What component is that in > regular Ubuntu? That's something I got used to and really miss it. If you go to Preferences => Date and Time , you can choose the location of the clock. For temperature, you mean outside temperature or computer temperature ? The first one is not available on the lxpanel, but the second one is available as a plugin.
