As far as I know, we can't have alternate (CLI) and ubiquity (GUI) on the same CD, as there are build differently. I was not aware of the need of memory for the new ubiquity :( It's another breakage for this rewrite ... Maybe it could be fixed in ubiquity directly or by making a new ubiquity GUI with less memory requirement. Another solution is to have an alternate CD. I think it will be necessary if the situation is not improved in Natty.
