It has no much dependencies, but its state is very critical. I'm waiting (desperate, might say) for Jupiter a long time ago. And testing Postler is a begining, but it doesn't work very well. I found some issues (remitent errors, UTF8 bad codes, it freezes when retrieving data, doesn't connect with Dexter yet, etc).
And it's not able to compose a real HTML rich text, so Sylpheed is the best option right now. But I must be critic with Sylpheed interface. It's ugly (reminds me those old KDE apps with lots and lots of frames) and a bit complicated. Postler's interface is better and easier, but it's in "baby" status. <http://lubuntublog.blogspot.com/> <http://www.lubuntu.net/> 2011/2/28 Jonathan Marsden <[email protected]> > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > On 02/27/2011 06:29 PM, Jean-Pierre Vidal Piesset wrote: > > > I would test it myself but the packages on the PPA are only for > > Maverick and Natty :( > > You can probably backport the source package to Lucid -- download the > source package files, edit one line in the changelog, debuild, test, > debuild -S -sa, dput your version up to your own PPA, wait for it to > build, done. > > Of course, if it has dependencies that are not in Lucid, you might end > up having to backport those, too ... but lack of a package for your > chosen release should not be a major issue.
