With the help of rsavage in ubuntuforums - thanks a lot again!!! - (see here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=11740298&postcount=61 ff. ) i activated radeonfb and set video=offb:off (in yaboot.conf) and got some really positive improvements:
- when i set quiet splash i get a lightblu background of the login-screen, the dots beneath the 12.04 now work like a progress bar (with quietsplash off i see the boot-up msgs like in debian - although they're somewhat different; - the consoles 1 - 6 now are usable/readable - suspend to ram works - closing the lid suspends to ram like it should (either with gnome-power-manager or with xfce4-power-manager) Remains the fan control problem; it improved a biut with the changes i added manually but the debian setup clearly works better. 2012/3/5 UH <[email protected]>: > Some add-on: > > 1) Substituting xfce-power-management by gnome-power-management did > not change anything. Still non suspend to ram (and not even control > for suspend to disk). -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-qa Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~lubuntu-qa More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
