I've long thought that it might be good, given that there are so few of us working on ppc, to know who we are and what hardware we have available to us. I was thinking of something like a variant on the Who We Are wiki page [1], but underneath the PPC Testing wiki page [2]. Nothing fancy. A link back to your personal wiki page with info on your system.
I was thinking one possible way to just get your hardware without a bunch of potentially sensitive environment variables or network infomation would be to issue the following in terminal: hardinfo -ram devices.so | sed '/\*\*\*\*\*\*\*/,/\*\*\*\*\*\*\*/d' > /path/to/filename This will generate a report only of the "Devices" section of the System Profiler report in a text format. What do you guys think?
