I can successfully install Lubuntu on machines with 512 megabytes of memory, but only if I first (when running on the live CD), go into the package manager, and remove the lubuntu ubiquity slideshow package.

Without doing that, it crashes while still copying files to be installed.

On older levels, that was not a problem, but from 12.04 and above, it has been happening every time.

Hi,

Are you saying that it is hard or impossible to install Lubuntu using the Desktop ISO from the LiveCD or LiveUSB if your machine has less than 768MB of RAM?

Well, from my own experience with Real Hardware for two years, I have installed Lubuntu From the LiveCD with LESS than 256MB of RAM on P4 but yes, very much slow for sure.

If you ask me, yet again I speak from experience, Lubuntu Live Session needs 384MB of RAM and yes, I have done so many tests with that amount of RAM :)

My tests were done on 3 different machines. The Live Session doesn't require so much RAM on my tests. Maybe, just maybe it depends on the hardware but again, I have many machines and I have tested that on each one :)
