Ali,

I completely agree with you and Ronnie, we don't need to change the
custom interface of Lubuntu, I prefer continue talking about offering
alternatives. But please, let me explain why I think is a good idea
have an additional "XP skin" using an example: I have a customer,
female 60yo. She has an old PentiumD with 1 GB ram and XP. She use the
PC mainly for Internet, email (using a browser) and Facebook. Sometime
she like to listen music and use an old version of Openoffice. Migrate
could be easy and to begin I proposed a dual boot XP/Lubuntu 12.04
LTS. After a couple of weeks she starts using more deeply Lubuntu but
she always back to XP to do something, like write a CD. Why? Because
after many years she was used to choose things on screen based on
colors and shape. Trust me, we are not speaking about a monkey, she is
a smart woman.
After a further customization of the interface (icons and windows
borders primarily) she switch completely to Lubuntu. In this way I
have helped one more person to migrate, that's for me is an happy
ending, and everybody here loves happy endings. :)

This category of people is perhaps just 1% of the potential users, but
they exist and need all the help we can offer because sometimes
teaching is not enough.

Yust my 2c.

F.
