I know this isn't the best place to post this question but I don't know where is.

In the past the main reason I've not used Lucene.net in projects is that I can find very few examples or tutorials on how to use it, write a crawler on use the various components. This lack of information is the main block. I know there are java books and web sites but converting to c# and then to vb.net for example is difficult without any real guidence.

It seems to me that such material is hampering adoption but very easy to address... or have I missed some key resource?

Per Apache's standard, tagged code in SVN, is not considered a "release". A release must go through the release cycle and packaging. To date, only
Lucene.Net 2.0, can be considered an official Apache release.

See http://incubator.apache.org/guides/releasemanagement.html to learn about
releases.

This would be 2.3.1, through it seems a number of people have rushed ahead
and are actively working on 2.4.0.

Is there a list of work to be done before 2.3.1 can be considered released?

I would rather get the next release out (being worked on now), as an
official Apache release and then work on graduation. As is, I don't believe
we meet the "Guide to Successful Graduation"

Perhaps a good idea is to get out the next release and then bear down
on graduation, with the goal of the release after that being the first
release as part of the Lucene PMC. Either that, or go for graduation
first.

.Netters,

I really think we need to push a little bit towards graduation. I
know this takes some work and there isn't much incentive for it, but
projects aren't meant to be in incubation forever and .NET actually
meets most, if not all, the requirements for graduation, IMO.

Can I ask for some volunteers to help see this through?
