Boy are you in trouble.... how risk averse are you?
If you are a risk taker which I would suppose you are since you are using morphix, I would recommend reinstalling and during the install make sure grub is installed to the MBR and hope and pray it does it right and does not destroy your windows boot. If all goes awry you have backups and windows disks which you can use to reinstall the windows boot loader.
If you don't want to reinstall morhphix, you can install lilo on the on the first sector of the linux partition which is /dev/hda1. This involves booting the live cd, chrooting to the linux installation edit /etc/lilo.conf and then issue an /sbin/lilo command. You will also have to tell the windows boot loader how to boot lilo from that partition.

The partitions and file systems were seen ok
then the last message if i recall was " cannot find mount point "
there is no floppy on the laptop
but I had assumed the installation routine would install LILO
how may i setup LILO manually while still running off of the live cd ?
regards
Henry
