I think you know about what's going on with Bill Gates' Microsoft in Europe.Guys want to see the code and stop porting the media player version in newer releases of windoze .Why?
So my conclusion your distro can be spyware/anti-spyware ;-) It can be a virus or antivirus too or a factory for both Look at Windows Media player,IE(Legal Spyware).Because iam a Linux fan doesn't mean iam very safe though I believe like we all do. :-)

But one thing remember Linux itself is an anti-virus and anti-spyware itself but can be bad too :-)
