Hi All Guido's question raises an issue I put out some time back, I have a sun box donated by Afrispa here which needs configuration to offer this information but needed some assistance to configure and install.
Can I please have some volunteers, you can configure the box from here or take it away but I think this data would be very useful for us all. I would also like to ask this list to actively look into how we develop our IXP. It has been up and running for over three years now but besides the local routing of traffic we have not got any added value. The guidelines of the IXP mean that not only ISP's can peer but also private hosting entities or those organizations that need separate their internet traffic from local (UG) traffic. I would like to put the challenge out to our techie community, please remember as ISP's it is in our interest to charge for every bit of traffic so it will not be the ISP's that will offer these alternative services, however if the requirement is user driven we will respond.
