I would like to inform you and others not to raise your hopes prematurely.
The Internet bandwidth prices might not experience the kind of downward
trend you highly anticipate. Good case studies are Nigeria and Ghana
where fibre ports have not helped them much. Infact in Ghana the ISP
association had to go to court against the Telco while in Nigeria, VSAT
has still proved far and I mean it far cheaper than the fibre costs.

Please remember that the EASSY project has mainly 2 investors from Uganda
i.e. MTN and UTL. There is a danger that they could pull a monopolistic
stunt to manage the rates at a certain minimum so as to recoup their
investment (which is also a valid argument in its own right).

I would love to say more however time is against me. So, just sit tight
and hope for the best.
