On average, if you scour yourself a good deal, you can get 
away with about $3,000.00/meg/duplex on satellite. The 
same providers could give it to you for less if you 
connected to them over fibre (no satellite space segment 
costs, expensive satellite gear to manage, e.t.c.).

You will only be hit by the charges the local lander 
(read: telco[s]) will charge to you! It will, at this 
point, become critical that the fibre data service is 
completely separated from the lander's IP network (if 
they run one), otherwise you will be forced to use an IP 
provider not_of_your_choice.
