Inevitable. Gasping for air perhaps, but you won't have to wait
long. And IP-based/driven technologies are not even bothering to hide
the murder weapon.
Nokia E90 boasts 10 hours (but it is a much heavier device of course),
and is not even meant to be a multimedia device.
10hrs of H.264 video playback?? 7hrs of talk time is easy to
engineer these days. 7hrs of video playback in a handheld device is a
different matter altogether. (Even laptop batteries can't manage that.)
But hey, gadgets cant have the same spec, they all have cons and pros,
but in general, the iphone should have been released with better spec.
May be it was a victim of too many expectations?
May be. But surely one of the more tiresome aspects of technology
offerings these days is the thinking that if you throw enough
'features' into the bowl, you end up with a good product. No sense of
unity, no sense of identity anymore. Gets boring. One of the best
nokia's I've used recently is the lowly 6230. It is simple, yet has a
couple of charming additions, well-integrated.
