A client of mine is interested in a Technical Manager and the TORs are
as follows;
Principal Responsibilities and Main Tasks
1. Plans for the technical department of the company.
2. Work out current and future IT needs by consulting with people
at all levels about the current work systems and deciding how
improvements could be made
3. Schedules, assigns, supervises, and oversees completion of work
of staff.
4. Coordinates with Client Relations Manager to schedule, evaluate
and document technical Staff work.
5. Monitors product/service quality and consistency.
6. Makes recommendations for departmental staffing and assists in
the selection of staff.
7. Formulates and implements appropriate technical support
routines.
8. Prepares periodic Technical reports for the General Manager
9. Prepares and Manages the departmental budget.
10. Oversees Research and Development efforts.
11. Oversees the planning, implementation and maintenance of
additions, deletions and major modifications to the company's
ICT infrastructure.
12. Oversees all support activities carried out by the technical
team.
13. Interact with clients to help resolve ICT issues in a timely
manner.
14. Identifies and obtains appropriate resources for the resolution
of complex problems
15. Manage the purchase and maintenance of company assets in both
software and hardware form.
16. Conduct effective performance evaluations and mentor members of
the technical team.
17. Facilitate the team to execute career development plans.
18. Review reports of technical team members and address issues as
appropriate.
19. Provide advice to other senior managers and boards on IT issues
and planning.
