Linux Training and Certification Program

 
The Faculty of Computing and Information Technology Makerere University
(CIT) working together with the Linux Users Group of Uganda (LUG-U) will be
conducting a Linux certification-training program targeted at the private
sector IT Professionals, students, and academics. The main purpose of this
program is to help foster the adoption of Open Source Linux Operating System
and other applications within industry and academia in Uganda.  The program
will help foster the adoption of Linux in Uganda by increasing the available
pool of trained Linux certified professionals.
 
The purpose of this letter therefore is to request to nominate a suitable
candidates to apply. The candidate must have the following:
 
-      Minimal or no Linux Knowledge
-      A two page motivation letter
-      Attach a detailed CV.
-      Must be willing to attempt and pass the Certification Exam
-      Pay a Certification fee of US$ 200

The training shall follow the Red Hat Linux System administration (RH-131)

The duration of the training is 60 Hours. Training will commence on the 18th
August 2008, at the Faculty of Computing and IT and will be running from
8.30am ­ 10.30am Monday through Friday.
