Robert,

Open a terminal and enter the following #sudo lspci and #sudo lsusb then copy and paste the output into an email. That will show us if the wireless card is being detected and what as.

Members,

I have followed the steps in comparison however i can see the printer, but test page is nowhere, let me get back to you after the installation of gutenberg packages.

Reinier, how did you activate your wireless network? For 7:10, madwifi v 0-9.4 is recommended but still facing challenges. I might have to upgrade 8.04

All appreciated.

    Hi Robert,

Am running 8.04 myself, but should be similar.

    - Open the System Settings
    - Click Printers
    - Click Add | Add Printer/Class

    The Printer wizard starts up

    - Click Next
    - Now, you can choose an smb printer (if that is how you shared yours)
    - Click next
    - On this screen (SMB Printer Settings) you can choose where your
    printer is.
If you can not find your printer here, you havent shared it correctly
    - Click Next
    - This brings you to the Printer Model Selection. This is the
    screen your
looking for. If you can not find your printer here, you need to
    install the
drivers. In you Adept Manager, search for "printer". I got the
    foomatic and
gutenberg packages installed, and they contain the most common
    drivers.

    good luck
