In addition I have secured five machines to load up demo's on to for
example Ubuntu/Edubuntu so people can come demo stuff. If you would like
to demo something but need a machine to do it on please can you let me
know. (Offlist will do), so I can ask for some more, as they are
available if we ask.
Apologies if this has already been done but the format for Software
Freedom Day 2008 Saturday will be ;-
Venue: Faculty of Computing and Information Technology. Top Floor.
There should be some printed signs from the ground floor pointing the way.
1. Opening by Minister at 9:00am
2. Key note address (Yours truly!)
3. Sector discussions (private, civil society & government)
4. Lunch
5. Training, Demonstration sessions
I can't emphasis enough how important I think this is we as a community
make an effort to turn out and support this day. There should be a few
members of the press around, so if you want to use this opportunity to
wax lyrical about all things Open Source I can't think of a better time.
I am hoping to see you all there and maybe even get time to share a beer
and a few geeky discussions with the same.
Many Thanks
Simon

Dear all,
My apologies for the short notice, but as we prepare for SFD this
Saturday 20th Sept, we are looking for any of you that have the time
to spare to offer training to the participants. The training will be
conducted in 2 parallel sessions between 2-4pm.
1. Basic users: For FOSS newbies needing a basic introduction to the
software, installation and use of Open Office.
2. Advanced users: For those wanting to learn more about latest
developments and sysadmin.
If you are available and would like to share your skills with either
category of participants do let me know a.s.a.p.
Regards,
Milton
