Hold down 6 & 4 during boot.

Hold down 3 & 2 during boot to revert to 32-bit.

Per the link, the Xservers boot the 64-bit kernel
by default, as it is assumed devices attached to that
platform will support the 64-bit device drivers already.

Will give it a shot and let you know.
