I think steve has a point. He is not formating the linux partition to go away from anything linux but i think migration always needs sometime. His users needs more orientation on a debian platform and in the mean time he can freely dualboot.

In a nutshell Steve as you might have gathered from the above messages this is the Linux User Group, we advocate how to use Linux not run away from it. To add a more constructive topic though what exactly are your users using the thin clients for? Is there a specific application you need to run Windows for? If so then what you could look into is using a Remote Desktop Client like rdesktop to connect to a remote Windows Server. But to be honest I'd use this as a opportunity to rid yourselves of that shackle. In addition are you licensed to run Windows? Last time I was down at the lab I saw every machine running with a "this is not genuine pop-up on the front" Your students are a very adaptable bunch and a few of them have seen Linux now since the last Software Freedom Day. We could do another LUG session in December showcasing some of the Pro's?
