I got the same problem too. About 2months ago I was trying to recover lost
data from a formatted partition using ubuntu 9.04 and i got many useful
suggestions from here and i succeeded with the help of photorec. I sent a
mail to this mail thanking everyone who had helped but i never saw it
anywhere in my inbox. I didnt understand it and i assumed it just got lost
somewhere on its way to my inbox.
