But SJ is not your mother. He does not have to be sincere with you in his 
proclamations. And you in turn would be unwise to expect him to be. There are 
two flavours of Kool-Aid on offer here, Apple-flavoured ("Flash destroys user 
experience") and Adobe-flavoured ("It's about avoiding lock-in").   

The key issue is effect. I think all those articles being churned out by the IT 
press to analyze this in terms of who is being most honest are an incredible 
waste of bandwidth. Effect is what matters. The key medium-term effect is that 
Flash is going to take a beating, HTML5 is going to surge.  (Good, from where 
us openness types stand.) If I were Adobe, I'd be positioning myself as maker 
of HTML5 content/app creation tools pronto...
