I am using a USB modem. The modem is connected to a wrieless router - Netgear - so I access the modem through the router via our wireless network. BUT I have also tested the modem (and upload) using it directly with my laptop, and it makes no difference. Anyway the problem has been introduced during the last weeks, where I have NOT changed anything in my environment. I have tested upload to a local server contra international - to determine if the problem lies outside Uganda (Orange), but it appears the problem is the same. A file 128 Kb uploads in a couple of minutes. a file at 256 fails. One interesting thing is though, that I succeeded uploading one 5 Mb picture to Picasaweb yesterday (as a test). I was surprised, but Picasa is optimizing upload, and I think they break the file up in fragments. This way the network does not encounter a timeout? But I am just guessing!
