Hi Guys, I have a USB 3G dongle from one of the great service providers in our country They have this great promotion going so I bought one and was VERY pleased with the product and service. It is excellent.
Then I met a friend who had originally bought the same dongle when it was first introduced (at about 3 times the price I recently bought mine). So as I was laughing at him ... then he showed me something ... he put a sim from another provider in his dongle and it worked. I tried on mine ... and it said "invalid sim" So now it was his turn to laugh ..... Now it got me thinking what if I get to an area of the country not serviced by my provider and I need internet in a life or death situation ... what will I do? So I thought it could be important to have an unlocked dongle as not all service providers cover all locations and for those rare times I am out of coverage of one I should be able to use another The other reason is I really want to laugh at him ....... :-) How do I unlock my dongle? Has anyone in UG done it?
