Roy, Log-on as the super user. Then type sudo -s in a console, which will log you on as a root user. Type in your password. Then type passwd and enter a new password for the root user. You should now be able to log on as root, from the log-on screen.

I installed it on an oracle virtualbox which is installed on my suse 11.2. I noticed that it did not ask me for a root password but only asked me for my username and password during the installation. I am unable to perform certain tasks that are required by the root user. So i would like to know if there is a default root password that it comes with or if there is a quick solution to this problem or do i have to use a live cd to change the password after mounting the partiitions. Thanks in advance.
