This is the official support, seems companies like Pythian, SkySQL etc are
also throwing parties since they provide alternative paid MySQL support. 

 

Most of the MySQLers have left Oracle and started companies within the same
capacities that they had. 

 

Kudos to open source, what Oracle is  forcing the platform providers to up
their game, which is good for the product, although the surrounding FUD does
not help.
