Hi, Installed Ubuntu 10.10 on a Lenovo g455. Many things worked out of the box but also a lot of things needed tuning and tweaking. I solved most of the issues, but the Microphone is still not working (a real show stopper for me and many people I read on the internet). This means that one cannot make phone calls (with skype and/or gizmo).
I think I tried all the solutions (there are many): fiddling around with the volume controls, downgrading of applications, different audio control applications, but nothing works. More people complain that they have not found a working solution. In the best situation I hear myself really soft on the recordings and skype test calls, but this is not workable. I need to connect a Skype handset to make calls (and temporary change a lot of settings). - Do more people have this problem and how do you work around? - Is there a way to install specific software for a HDA ATI SB / Conexant CX 20585 card to make it work? Any other ideas? Thanks, victor _______________________________________________ LUG mailing list [email protected] http://kym.net/mailman/listinfo/lug To unsubscribe http://kym.net/mailman/options/lug LUG is generously hosted by INFOCOM http://www.infocom.co.ug/ All Archives can be found at http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ The above comments and data are owned by whoever posted them (including attachments if any).
